We incorporate all of the best areas to visit and enjoy the day to the fullest: between 6 and 8 hours. Lunch is included, from a nice picnic in the nature to a restaurant according to the program.
Half day
Considering the short time span in this type of program, which incorporates one or maximum two activities, we always keep in mind to return to the Hotel or Lodge before lunchtime and if in the afternoon, after lunchtime. Duration is between 2 and 5 hours.

Los Lagos, Huerquehue National Park

We will visit the Huerquehue National Park, located 35 kilometers from Pucón, on the path “Los Lagos”. Between impressive landscapes, we will get to know the lakes Chico, Verde and Toro surrounded by Araucarias, emblematic arboreal species of this area, with more than a thousand years old, who also happen the providers of the “piñon” (pine nut): main food of the local native people. We will have our picnic lunch at a unique observation point. After this tour, accompanied by great views, we return to the starting point.

Sanctuary of Araucarias El Cañi

From Pucón we will approach this reserve with no more than 30 kilometers away. We will go trekking in one of the first private and protected areas in Chile, created through funds from mainly recognized conservationists of the world, who have found in this more than 500 hectares area, a unique diversity of the North limit of the extension of the temperate rainforest in South America. On our way, we’ll be crossing the Coihue and Araucaría Forests. The Araucaría is a relict or primitive species; a conifer reserve in a hemisphere, where the forests have long evolved towards broadleaf species. Lakes and viewpoints with panoramic landscapes will be part of the attractions on this great walk. At a special point in scenic nature, we will have our picnic lunch and then return.

El Puma Trail and Glaciar Pichillancahue, Villarica Reserve

On this trip, we will go to the Palguin area with no more than 20 kilometers East of Pucón, continued by taking the Southerly direction towards the Villarrica National Reserve in the Quetrupillán area. The trail will begin its first stage inside a unique forest of lengas and the millennial Araucarias "El pehuén Mapuche", where we will be enjoying the silence and peace that this special place has to offer. Then, as we go further up and beyond the forest, we will be facing a mountain hike towards the Pichillancahue glacier with a breathtaking close-up of the Villarrica Volcano. We will be able to visualize the beginning of this great glacier, which through its sediments confirms what has been found after the last eruption of the Villarrica volcano. After this, we will have a picnic lunch in scenic nature and on the way back, we will make a visit to “el Salto del León”, a waterfall with more than 50 meters high inside a unique forest and then head back to Pucón.

Huincacara, Villarrica National Park

On this trip, we will go to the Southwest area of Pucón inside the same Villarrica National Park, where we will have a walk along paths with views of magical ravines of lenga and coigüe forests, as well as crossing the dry lava fields. We will then enter a dense forest of Araucarias, also known as the Mapuche sacred tree that has remained in these forests for millions of years and trees of Lenga and Coihue that will give us a unique contrast of colors. Next, we will approach the viewpoint of the Voipir Glacier located in the Western area of the Villarrica Volcano, with greater glaciation towards the North than in its known South face. Views of different lakes such as Colico, Calafquén, Panguipulli and Villarrica will give this walk a perfect combination for a day in nature. We will have our picnic lunch at a point in scenic nature and then return.

Kayak & Hike in Huerquehue National Park

In this amazing nature activity, we take course to the Northeast of Pucón in the direction of the National Park Huerquehue, inside a Reserve of the Biosphere, entering directly to the lake of Tinquilco at the foot of the Andes mountain range. Motorboats are not allowed in this lake, so its tranquility and exuberant vegetation are the main attractions. We will cross the lake and in the Northern sector of this area, we will leave the kayaks behind to start the walk through a centennial forest of Mañíos and Coihues and visit different waterfalls, like el Salto del Águila and Trufulco. Here, we will recover our energy with a snack and then return to the kayaks to head back to the starting point. In a space of observation and comfort inside nature, we will have a healthy picnic lunch, taking a break from time by enjoying this great preserved place and then head back to the Hotel or Lodge.

Snowshoeing through Araucanía

On this day, we will be able to enjoy the inspiring experience of walking on snowshoes through snow-white extensions in magical natural surroundings. We will make a tour of approximately 2,5 hour through the foothills of the Villarrica Volcano or through the area of Puesco near Argentine, taking advantage of the fresh snow that can be found in this area and enjoy the silence of the Andean Araucanía. After this walk, we head to the thermal baths in the nearby area to enjoy a well-deserved rest and a healthy lunch and in the end, we will return to the Hotel or Lodge.

Villarrica or Rukapillan Volcano

We will have the option to ascend one of the most active volcanoes in South America with a height of 2,847 meters. In the ascent, we can experience the mountaineering in different phases, from walking with sticks towards the summit, to hiking with crampons and an ice ax in more exposed areas, where always under the support of our expert guides, a significant mountain experience will be lived. On the summit, we can clearly observe the activity of this sacred volcano through its fumarole and if the weather allows us, we might be able to observe the incandescent magma inside. On the descent, the panoramic views of the lakes in the area and the geography of the place, will give us clear information of the unique natural environment where we are.

Quetrupillan Volcano

The Great Volcano that presents to us, accompanying the Rukapillan. The Quetrupillán, with a height of 2,380 meters, located in the center of the line that joins the Villarrica Volcano with the Lanín Volcano to the side of Argentine. It is believed that thousands of years ago, the volcano once had a huge explosion where during the eruption it had blew away its summit and leaving it in the shape we currently see; with a cross section that clearly differentiates it from its more pyramidal companions of East and West. Depending on the season, we can observe a blue lagoon that sits on top of the summit, as well as experiencing great views of volcanoes in the surroundings and forests of araucarias and lengas. A peaceful mountain ascent that will not face big crowds and an excellent mountain experience with unique views.

Lanín Volcano

A great ascent of the iconic and most highest volcano in the Araucanía area on the border of Chile and Argentina, with a height of 3,728 meters on the side of Argentine and a height of 3,710 meters on the side of Chile. Lanín is to the Southern mountain range, what Mount Aconcagua is to the central mountain range of Chile. Both volcanoes surpass their neighbors with more than a thousand meters and impose themselves on the horizon like no other. This great volcano can be found at 75 kilometers from Pucón. The climb starts with an ascent of 1,200 meters, followed by another 2,500 meters towards the summit. It requires people with prior experience and high physical condition to ensure a great mountain experience. From the summit, you can observe the main volcanoes in the area such as Lonquimay, Llaima, Villarrica, Quetrupillán, and Mochochoshuenco among others.

An ascent to a slight summit of 1,920 meters. This ascent is a unique experience, since it allows you to enjoy the majestic side of the Huerquehue National Park, located inside a Biosphere Reserve, with different and surprising scenic observation points. After hours of crossing the forests of Araucarias and Coihues, we will keep advancing by taking new slopes, until we enter higher and open areas, where the arboreal species of the ñire is the only one that is present to get closer to the summit between rocks and amazing views of the area.
